Last week the hospital called us to come in to do yet another ultrasound on Thomas’s kidney before the scheduled surgery of May 14. We went on Tuesday, and the doctor called us the day after to tell us that Thomas no longer needs surgery! We thank God for working! Your prayers were heard!  Thank you.  We are so excited and relieved that he will not have to go through all of that!  We have seen the hand of God working for our good in this whole process. He has given us peace all along the way. We were concerned, but we knew Thomas was going to be o.k. one way or the other, either through the surgery or through him healing without it. We know God doesn’t always work this way, but we rejoice that he chose to heal Thomas without medical intervention.  Thank you for being a part of this! The church here has also been encouraged to see how God has worked. And as we say our goody-byes to our neighbors and contacts, we’ve gotten one last chance to share how good and gracious is our God. We’re especially grateful for such a powerful message to our neighbor Alessandra, who performed the last ultrasound and has been involved with us through the whole process. We have another friend named Mirco who is a doctor in the Urology department that we hope will be touched by this, too.  Perhaps Thomas’ doctors will conclude that he just “grew out of the problem,” but when we tell them we’ve been praying, the response so far has been “It worked.” Originally, his kidney looked so bad they wanted to do the surgery before March, but somehow the date kept getting pushed back.
