Dear Family and Faithful Supporters,

So sorry I didn’t get a letter off to you  before  SIMCO (SIM Candidate Orientation) February 23 - March 15 as we were busy moving into our new SIMKids House! I told you in my last letter that I would tell you about this SPECIAL home that was donated by the Moss family to SIM and moved down the street and on to our SIM USA property!!

Picture 1:  This is how the house looked once it was placed on the lot after the site was cleared.  It was moved by a huge truck and trailer. After the house was in the right position, the foundation and basement had to be constructed underneath.  It was like watching giant legos being built up.   simkidshouse1

Picture  2 :  This is a rear view of the house.  The size was nearly doubled by constructing the basement  underneath.  The big news is that on February 25 Helen Inman, Ruth Gibbs  and I welcomed nine school-aged kids to the SIMKids House for SIMCO.  Care for ten younger children was in the Residence and Lodge SIMKids Playroom. Thanks to the hard work of our SIM crew and  many volunteers,  the house is on a full basement which will be used for recreational activities.  The main level of the house has four classrooms, a library, kitchen/craft room, and two restrooms.  The hallway is wide enough for small group meetings and we imagine many special activities on both the front and back porches.

simkids house 2The third floor contains space for our 3 MK Care team  offices, a  small conference and  play area for visiting MKs.  Best of all, there are  lots  of closets and places to store teaching materials and curios !

On March 10, 2008 the Moss family and SIM USA Board Members shared a time of refreshments and seeing the house.  Afterwards, the Moss family, SIMCO participants, and many SIMers gathered on the lawn for the dedication of the SIMKids House.

Joe Moss told us that his grandmother called their home “Shady Rest” and hosted “an untold number of mission meetings, picnics, and dinners in this house, so I think she would be very happy to see it being used by SIM as it is now to help spread the Word.”

Helen, Ruth and I have slowly adjusted to our new offices and can find most of our supplies now!!  :) We look forward to being more organized when our July 5-26 SIMCO takes place!!

SO THANKS for praying for me (even when you are not sure what I am up to!!)Continue to pray for our MKs around the world, especially the college kids .

We have 24 SIM kids graduating from 21 different colleges this spring. They will be looking for jobs and where God wants them next!  Important and big questions to find answers for!!  (Can you remember when you were 21?? and things are SO different now…)

We do PRAISE the Lord for many answers to prayer. This SIMKids house has been a big need in our MK ministry.

We are also most grateful for the many volunteers who helped our SIM crew with all the construction, renovations, and painting ETC….

And I Praise and Thank the Lord for YOU also and your faithful prayers, love and support. Some of you have been part of the team for the more than 43 years I’ve had the privilege of serving the Lord through SIM!!   I am most grateful! My love and thanks,Elizabeth Howard
